ABOUT RHA:

The purpose of RHA is to represent and better the college experience for those students living in the residence halls. This is accomplished through four principles: Programming, Leadership, Advocacy, and Networking. The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the largest student-run organization in the world. It focuses on empowering residents to play an active role in their community, on their campus, and at regional and national levels.

At USU, RHA also provides leadership opportunities for residents, such as holding positions in Area Councils. What is an Area Council? It is a group of students that live on campus who meet regularly to plan programs, better the community, make connections with housing staff and learn how to improve their leadership skills. Other involvement opportunities RHA provides are becoming members of NRHH, representing USU’s RHA regionally and nationally, and volunteering for campus wide events.

Executive Council

The Executive Council are paid university employees who are appointed to each area of on-campus housing to help form the area council of each area. They run the first few meetings of the year, and set up the voting process to elect the area council in their areas. Then, they advise and help their councils plan programs, service and other activities for the year.
